heading north/heading south

Heading north
To see the icy mountains, the snow and the frozen lakes
to feel the cold wind blowing through my bones
To watch the obscurity win over the sun

Heading south
To hear the sound of clashing waves on the shore
Perfumes of iced cream, sunlotion and tequila in the air
To live where palm trees grow

Though the pole was not north enough
the ice was not cold enough
the snow was not white enough
because of the breeze coming from the south

kites and cloths lying on the sand
leaves in the trees sleeping
weathercocks pointing east
Your eyes on the unusually calm sea
